Hoover Troop 23

Troop 23 was started in 1919 with 23 Scouts and 4 adult leaders. The charter paperwork is so old that it doesn't identify the original chartering organization. Troop 23 has had between 4 and 5 chartering organizations since it's founding. It is currently chartered by the Discovery United Methodist Church in Hoover. 

We are an active Scouting Troop that attends merit badge summer camp each summer and plans regular trips to National High Adventure bases. Our meetings are held at Discovery United Methodist Church 5487 Stadium Trace Pkwy. Hoover AL. The unit is funded through Christmas tree sales in November and many of our Scouts choose to participate in the Council's popcorn and camp-card sales.
